I'd like to thank everyone who's viewed, faved, commented and watched my work thus far. I'm very pleased to have over 1000 views in just over a year, and on only 40 pieces. I can't wait to see how things go from here now that I've progressed artistically.
Lately I've been taking more and more art classes, and piling up my artwork from many class assignments. Ceramic, soft sculpture, charcoal, paintings, drawings..
Soon I'm going to make a day out of taking pictures of my work for you all to see and enjoy. Right now I only have photos of a few pieces.
Currently I have one piece on display in the library at my college, and I'm very pleased with where my art is going these days. Everyone seems to enjoy my art and that's why I love doing it, so it's becoming very rewarding.
In other news, I bought a new toy!! I finally took the plunge to purchase a nice Digital SLR camera! I'm very excited for the possibilities it's opening up...it's so much more capable than my last camera and much more fun to use.
I bought it now because my cousin asked me to photograph her wedding; I couldn't see myself running around frantically trying to get good shots with a point-and-shoot. Let alone dealing with flash recharge times, noticeable shutter lag, and the inability to rattle shots off at 3-4FPS when special moments are happening.
I went into it with a measly 2-3 days experience with my new camera, which is shockingly low, but I was able to practice a lot before the wedding while everyone was prepping. What a lovely yet stressful shoot it was. I have shown my family some select shots and they seem to love them so far, let's hope they're not just saying that It was a blessing being given the opportunity though, it was just what I needed and such an amazing experience that's still living as I sift through the images.
While I'm not disappointed with my shots as a whole, I really wish I'd had more time to prep, learn my camera, and perhaps afford an external flash, the low candle-lit venue made things very difficult shooting at speeds that wouldn't blur everyone. Thank GOD I had my 50mm f/1.8 or I'd have used the flash all night.
Well, I'm going to get back to work on all my recent photography, I have thousands of shots to deal with and seemingly NO TIME to do so. Stay tuned for much more in the coming month, and thanks so much for your support!

GOAL: Daily Deviation
I'm going to strive to better my artwork on DA, I really want to have one of my works featured as a daily deviation! I also would love to see more critiques made for my work, so I shall try to critique art more frequently. I was kindly given a critique lately by Darren-Young and it reminded me how nice it was to receive thoughtful feedback!
I bought a new camera! Full frame goodness is now blessing my work, and now I've started doing wedding work, so you might see some of that leaking into my gallery. My last wedding put me and my girlfriend in a perfect place to do some photography, so here is one of the images I took on our way home fr

Finding pieces to my puzzle
Thanks for taking the time to read this! I'll try to keep it interesting, now that I'm gaining more watchers and more views, I better!
It's taken me a while to get to a point where I can begin to focus more on photography, and I'm finally taking more serious steps to do so. I've put school on hold now that I have my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts, with a Fine Arts emphasis. I have no solid plans on re-entering school other than I figure I'll make quick work of a bachelor's degree when I feel the need. Finish off that Environmental Resources Engineering degree, grab one in Business, or perhaps continue in Fine Arts with a Studio Degre
3,400 - 17,500
I've taken on a higher level of views lately, which makes me happy people are viewing my work more often... 3,400 in itself isn't a huge milestone, and people say pageviews mean jack, but I disagree, albeit partially.
It simply means that a few people are looking at my work every day, and if people are watching my work at all, it makes it that much more worthwhile.
The second number is the shutter count on one of my most recent shots; roughly one year's worth on my Nikon.
Don't take that many shots? Not even half? It's ok, I'm a nut.
Possible goal - put camera on single shot and pretend I've got film in the back instead of a sensor...
